About NaijaHacks

NaijaHacks is Africa's biggest tech invention competitions. Uchi Uchibeke founded NaijaHacks to provide an opportunity for young Nigerians to showcase their skills and build solutions that make a difference for them, their families, and the world.

As a tech invention competition and invention party, NaijaHacks Hackathon participants have developed solutions to some of Nigeria's most pressing challenges using the latest and greatest technologies. One team created a solution to include the unbanked and underbanked people financially. Another team developed an online social platform to help connect entertainment investors to raw talents. Also, yet another team built a virtual reality (VR) app to enable immersive educational experiences.

To date, NaijaHacks has created 15 companies by working with AfricaHacks, also founded by NaijaHacks founder, Uchi Uchibeke.

NaijaHacks is the brainchild of Uchi Uchibeke, a Nigerian-Canadian Engineer at SecureKey (Formally Shopify, IBM and the Royal Bank of Canada). Uchi was previously at IBM, Shopify and RBC Royal Bank of Canada. He started Naijahacks because of the impact that participating and winning Hackathons at Stanford, Princeton, Harvard, Waterloo, and many more had on him and his career. He wanted to bring a similar experience to young people in Nigeria to enable them to build solutions that make themselves, their families, and the world better.
